Our 2nd and 4th grade students host our annual Red Cross Blood Drive every February. This service learning event is a reminder to our students that there are a variety of ways to serve, and it is an excellent opportunity to partner with your child as she endeavors to truly make a positive impact on her community. Students bring home a blood donation form; please help your child find as many eligible donors as possible. The blood drive takes place in the gym on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Remember: one donation saves three lives!
Back to School Night
With each new school year come questions of all kinds for our students, but parents may have some questions as well! Back to School Night is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow SPS families, get to know teachers, and build community as you learn about what the coming year will bring for your child. Children thrive when parents and teachers work together to support their education and development. Back to School Night, held each September, is a wonderful way to connect and show your support for your child’s education. It is one of two required events for SPS parents each year.
Veterans Day Celebration
We value world readiness and civic responsibility, and one way that we share the importance of those two qualities is by honoring our veterans at our Veterans Day Celebration and Assembly. Students are encouraged to invite their family or friends who have served in the military to join us at the Veterans Reception each November. Our students are reminded of the bigger picture as we proudly honor our veterans and celebrate their service. If you have a family member or family friend who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces, please send a photo and description to the Seven Peaks office, to be included in our Veterans Day slideshow.
Mark your calendars for our Annual Grandparents Day and Art Show celebration! Our students work hard to develop their skills and knowledge in all subjects; it is a joy for them to share their Seven Peaks experience with their grandparents, and we love seeing families come together to support their children’s education. Students have the chance to invite their grandparents to come and spend the day, or part of the day, visiting their classrooms and viewing the Art Show. Grandparents Day is Friday, May 19, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Grandma and Grandpa will not want to miss this special experience!
The annual Art Show is an inspiring showcase of the culmination of student work over the course of the year. At SPS, we have the privilege of offering a well-rounded education, and this event truly shows that art is not “an elective” at SPS; it is an integral part of the students’ education. All students will have the chance to view the art, and we highly encourage parents to come and let your child tell you about their hard work and the variety of skills and techniques they’ve learned.
Elementary Winter Music Program
The Elementary Winter Music Program is much-loved tradition and culminating celebration of our students’ hard work and musical skill. The arts are a crucial component of educating the whole child, and music education is one of the many enriching courses our students have the opportunity in which to take part. Not only are students challenged musically in the classroom during the weeks leading up to the performance, but they also have the opportunity to grow through live performance on the day of the presentation. Don’t miss it!
Elementary Spring Music Show
The Spring Music Show is a much-anticipated event! Part of our mission at SPS is to provide a well-rounded education rich with opportunities in the arts, and our elementary students demonstrate the manifestation of that mission as they present their musical skills. Show your support for your child by attending the June show!
Celebrate Seven Peaks Fundraising Gala
Part of our core belief at SPS is that it takes a community of caring adults to help our children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The Celebrate Seven Peaks Fundraising Gala is your opportunity to be part of an experience that reflects how much you care for the holistic education of, not only your own child, but the future generation! This community building event is a time to have fun, celebrate our incredible school, and raise money to support the programs that make Seven Peaks unique and exceptional. Join us at Tetherow’s new event pavilion on March 4, 2016. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the school website. If you would like to help with this event please contact Stephanie Erickson at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to celebrating with you!
Family Bingo Night
There is not always enough time to chat in the parking lot with fellow SPS parents. So join us on Friday, October 28, 2016 and again on April 6, 2017, 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the gym, for a fun-filled night with family and friends! We will enjoy dinner and play Bingo. At SPS, we are more than a school; we are a community!
New Parent Social
Just before the beginning of each new school year, SPS hosts an evening social for new parents and parents who have served as buddy families to the incoming families. Many teachers attend this fun event as well, and it’s a great way to connect before the new school year begins! This event is for adults only and is one of only 2 events per year when childcare is not offered. Appetizers, beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and light desserts are served.
