6th Grade Creates an Island Nation
Have you ever wanted to create your ideal country? In Humanities, students are applying what they have learned about the five themes of geography to create an island nation. As they work in small groups, students are expected to show each other patience, cooperation, an open mind, and a willingness to make decisions together. They will draw physical and political maps labeling the important places within the country. Using the absolute and relative location of the island, groups will determine their climate, physical features and natural resources, and become trading partners with other groups.
