Art Teacher (5th - 8th)Education
B.S in Visual Arts and a Masters in Education from Eastern Oregon UniversityEducational Philosophy
I consider being a teacher as an incredibly important role in our society. I strive to teach in a way that motivates my students to take responsibility for their own learning and actions. I want my students to find a joy in the journey of discovery that will inspire them to become life long learners. Teaching the arts is a privilege that allows me to challenge each individual student to be open, creative, thoughtful, compassionate, and to hopefully discover a playfulness in learning. Why I like working at SPS
I have found an incredible community here. It is a team of teachers, administration, and families all working together to create the best education we can. I feel that we are set up for success as teachers with the smaller class sizes and parent involvement. At Seven Peaks being smart is cool and it makes teaching here a privilege.Personal interests
I feel lucky to live in this wonderful little town. I enjoy all it has to offer including hiking, camping, days at the high lakes, biking, and time spent with friends and family. I also love to travel whenever the opportunity presents itself!
