I always look forward to the first day of school. There is a palpable feeling of excitement and wonder among the students as to what the year will bring. My promise to you is that your child will be embarking on a successful year of learning, personal growth and reaching his/her fullest potential.
I’d like to highlight a few important reminders for this week. Be sure each day your child brings:
- A healthy morning and afternoon snack.
- Lunch (if you have not signed up for hot lunch via Food4All). Information will be arriving via email soon regarding signing up for hot lunch. You may log in here.
- Shoes for PE on Mondays and Wednesdays (they can change into these prior to PE class)
School begins at 8:15 and releases at 3:05. After school, 3rd graders have the option of meeting their parents either in the classroom, or in the hallway, playground, or curbside.
Also, don’t forget about the parent homework assignment! Please write me a letter telling me everything you would like me to know about your child. What are their passions? How do they learn best? Any social concerns? Health issues? What are your hopes for them this year? Tell me anything you feel comfortable putting on paper (or via email). I look forward to reading your letters and getting to know your child better. You are welcome to bring your letter to me on the first day of school or send it to me via email.
Bulletin Boards are up, words to live by on the wall, Mrs. Jenson being silly, I can’t wait to see you all!
I look forward to seeing all those smiling faces on Wednesday.
